Launching Today: Challies en español

Santa Biblia

Over the past few years, one of the most common recurring questions from readers has been this: “Can I translate your articles?” Though I’ve received requests that represent many different languages, none has been more persistent than the requests for Spanish. Today I’m thrilled to announce that I am now offering a Spanish edition of my site. You can find it at es.challies.com.

The initial articles you will find there represent some of my “best-of” work, the most popular English-language articles from the past few years. Here are a few examples:

As time goes on, we will continue to add some of the popular articles from the past while also adding in newer ones. We may even get to the point where we can release articles simultaneously in both languages. For now, I anticipate adding a new article each day, five days per week.

To help spread the word and notify readers of new articles, I’ve begun Spanish Twitter and Facebook accounts. Please feel free to follow those accounts and let others know about them.

To those who are in the habit of praying for me or my site, I’d ask prayer for success in this new venture. May God be glorified as these articles reach readers around the world!

I’d also ask that you consider supporting this venture. These articles are being professionally translated and for the time being I am bearing this expense with no obvious means to cover it through advertising or sponsorships. Any gifts you send via Paypal or check via postal mail (and designated explicitly for that purpose) will be put directly toward Spanish-language translations.

But if that’s true, I believe it is also appropriate…

Nick Would Be 25 Years Old Today

I don’t why we place more emphasis on some birthdays than others. Why is 16 more significant than 17? Why are multiples of 5 more significant than multiples of 4 or 6? I don’t who decides these things or on what basis, but I suppose 25 is significant because it marks a quarter of a…
