Tuesday November 1, 2005

Sad: A Texas pastor was electrocuted during a baptism service. “Kyle Lake, 33, was stepping into the baptistery as he reached out for the microphone, which produced an electric shock…” Bill comments.

Get A Life: My parents visited this weekend on their way to the cottage to clear out the furniture. Someone stole the trailer hitch from my dad’s truck. What kind of an idiot steals a trailer hitch?

Understatement: A CMCentral reviewer says of the Bible: “It is arguably the most important book ever published and continues to be widely read for spiritual guidance as well as literary studies.” Arguably? I’d be interested in knowing what might rank higher. The Little Red Book? Harry Potter? What could possibly be more important?

Halloween What Tim wanted to say to the twelve-year old out walking with her father: “And you must be a prostitute…” What Tim actually said: “And you are…?” What she said: “A biker chick.” What Tim did: Rolled his eyes and wondered what kind of a father would let his young daughter dress in short, tight black leather for Halloween.

Reformation Day: Laura posts a poem in honor of Reformation day. Westminster Confession blog discusses the women of the Reformation. Michael Haykin remembers Lady Jane Grey.

  • Do you know who God says you are?

Identity matters for at least two key reasons. First, understanding our identity—our true God-given identity—is vital to understand why we exist and what we’re to do in life, as it is likewise essential for framing a fitting perspective of others.

A Collection of Random Thoughts on Christian Living

Not every thought makes a good article and sometimes an entire article can be distilled down to a single thought. For those reasons, I like to occasionally create what I have created here–a roundup of brief, random thoughts about Christian living. Some of these are original and some are drawn from articles I’ve written in…
